Hugging Face releases AnyLanguageModel 1.0 for local and hosted models on Apple platforms

Hugging Face released AnyLanguageModel 1.0, a drop-in replacement for Apple's Foundation Models framework that lets apps pick their model and provider by changing the import statement. The release adds tool calling and guided generation across every provider, image support using Foundation Models 27 syntax, and hosted support for OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Ollama Private Cloud Compute and Hugging Face Inference Providers. It ships alongside swift-huggingface 1.0 and swift-xet 1.0, and also runs on Linux.
