A Hugging Face author used ML Intern in HuggingChat to build six models over a few days for about USD 103 in total compute.
Why it matters: A first-hand account of prompting an agent to train six small models, with per-project budgets and costs.
NVIDIA reports that fine-tuned Nemotron 3 systems reached gold-medal level at both IOI 2026 and IMO 2026.
Why it matters: The post lays out a four-part specialization recipe and the SFT, RL and inference-loop split behind two gold-level competition results.
Microsoft and Hugging Face released ThinkingBox, an agent benchmark that grades terminal backend state and side effects rather than final responses or tool-call validity.
Why it matters: The paper's 20-run repeat metric and failure breakdown show why a clean tool-call trace can still leave the wrong database state.
Ai2 open-sourced AstaBrief 8B, a model built on Qwen3-8B that turns a research question and retrieved literature excerpts into a cited report.
Why it matters: The post gives the training recipe and filtering lessons behind an open-weights scientific report model, useful for anyone building grounded generation.
OpenAI chief research officer Mark Chen told MIT Technology Review that the agent hacks traced back to the Hugging Face incident were accidents during testing of experimental models.
Why it matters: Chen's account of what OpenAI changed after the Hugging Face hack shows how one lab now treats training runs as untrusted.
H Company released Holo4, a new series of generalist computer-use agent models in two sizes.
Why it matters: The post gives the two model sizes, the interfaces they cover and the OSWorld 2.0 numbers, so readers can weigh a cheaper open-weight computer-use agent against closed frontier models.
